Amazing Coaches & Leaders (winter sports)
My name is Carson Durbin, and I’m proud to be returning to Reardan as the Head High School Wrestling Coach. As a Reardan alumnus, I was a two-time state placer in wrestling and am currently attending Eastern Washington University, where I compete on the EWU wrestling team and had the opportunity to wrestle at Nationals. I’m excited to continue growing my coaching career — after coaching middle school wrestling last year and middle school cross country this fall, I’m eager to step into this new role at the high school level. I also serve as a Flex Coach for Cross Country for MS/HS.
When I’m not in class or coaching, I enjoy working as a para substitute for the district, as well as spending time outdoors camping, going to the lake, and being with family.I can’t wait to get to work with our athletes and am looking forward to another great season in
the wrestling room!
Hello! My name is Aaron Gonzalez, and I am looking forward to
working with you all! Recently, I earned my degree in Health and
Physical Education from Eastern Washington University, with minors
in Coaching and Psychology. A little about me, I have a passion for
coaching, having volunteer coached youth basketball with cheney
parks and recreation, middle school girls tennis with Evergreen Middle
School, and most recently with our very own Reardan Highschool
boys basketball team. I love drumming and music, but most
importantly I love staying active!
My name is Jacob Green, but most people call me Jake. Born and raised on the Spokane Indian Reservation and a proud Spokane Tribal member. I currently reside on the reservation with my wife and our 3 children. We enjoy our family time together, spending time watching our favorite shows, getting in the gym, or playing games. I graduated from Wellpinit high school in 2007, and from there I continued my education at Peninsula Community College, also playing 2 years of basketball there. College is really where my love for the game has expanded. Deciding to share my experiences and what I had learned over the years, I coached a few basketball seasons at Wellpinit High School. Additionally, I coached my kids’ youth teams. Most recently I have had the honor to be the assistant coach for the Reardan Middle School boys’ basketball team. I am excited to continue this journey as the head coach for Reardan High School Boys basketball team.
Conner Kline is the MS Head Wrestling Coach. He was born and raised in Reardan, Washington , and graduated from Reardan High School in 2024 with 13 years of wrestling experience. His significant wrestling accomplishments include placing 3rd at the state tournament in both 2023 and 2024, winning the district and regional championships in 2023, and taking 8th place at Tri-State in 2023. Kline is currently attending Eastern Washington University, where he plans to major in marketing. He has 3 years of coaching experience, having helped coach for the Reardan Renegades Little Guys Wrestling Program. He enjoys spending time outdoors, lifting weights, and participating in wrestling. He is proud to be part of the Reardan Wrestling Family.
A proud Reardan alum, Scott Krupke brings years of experience after coaching our MS
Girls basketball program and a HS volunteer coach at State B this past spring to his new
role as Reardan High School Girls Assistant Flex Coach. Coach Krupke’s deep
understanding of the game, strong leadership, and commitment to developing young
athletes make him an excellent addition to the Reardan coaching staff. His dedication to
Reardan athletics and passion for teaching the fundamentals of basketball will help guide the program to continued growth and success.
We are excited to welcome Shannon Landt as the Sideline Cheer Coach at Reardan High
School! A proud Reardan alum and Washington State University graduate, Shannon brings a deep connection to our community along with a wealth of experience and compassion from her work as our dedicated school nurse.
Shannon is known for her calm and patient nature, her kindness, and her thoughtful approach to everything she does. Her ability to connect with both children and adults helps her build trust quickly and provide comfort when it’s needed most.
Shannon brings these same qualities—compassion, reliability, and strong communication—to the cheer program. We are excited for the leadership, positivity, and supportive energy she will share with our athletes this season.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Shannon Landt to the Reardan High School cheer family!
Hi, I’m Katie! I was born and raised here in the beautiful PNW. My family and I recently bought acreage and the cutest little farmhouse about 5 years ago, bringing us to the Reardan community. We joined the Reardan school district last year as my sweet boys were entering kindergarten. We joined the Options program and have loved it! I teach in the options program as an instructor for Outdoor School as well as hands-on learning classes. You can find me over at the Options Village on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have always had a passion for cheerleading being a cheerleader myself. With years of experience with sideline and competition cheer, when the position opened up I knew this is where I wanted to step in and be. As the head competition cheer coach, my goal is to help guide and lead the girls to have the best competition season. Helping grow the cheer program, supporting the girls, and making an impact on both is something that I will do proudly. I love our Reardan community and I feel so fortunate and lucky to have a small piece in it. Go screags!
Faith Matusik is an experienced coach who will be serving as our HS Wrestling Assistant Coach alongside Coach Mauzay, and as our HS/MS Cross Country Assistant Flex Coach with Coach Smedley. Additionally, she is our MS Head Track Coach.
Faith competed in middle school and high school for Cheney as a sprinter, pole vaulter, and heptathlete. She has been actively involved in helping her 4 kids who all attend Reardan. She is highly organized and structured, possessing a deep understanding of what it takes to be an athlete in these events and the importance of conditioning and form.
It’s exciting to be back coaching again for the Reardan-Edwall School District. After graduating from St. John-Endicott High School in 1990, I attended college at Eastern Washington University to participate in both basketball and track & field. After two years at Eastern, I transferred to Whitworth University to continue participating in basketball and track & field. My first coaching experience began in 1994, coaching an AAU team in Otis Orchards, WA. Also in the mid-90s, I started a track & field program at Sprague-Harrington High School as well as became an assistant basketball coach. I coached both track & field and basketball at Sprague-Harrington through 1997. In 1994, after a few years at Whitworth University and a few changes in my area of study, I transferred back to Eastern Washington University to join their Education program. In 1998, I took my first full-time teaching and coaching positions at Woodburn High School in Woodburn, Oregon, which is 30 minutes south of Portland. I began as an assistant coach for football and basketball for one year and then received the head basketball position my second year. Also, during my second year, I assisted with the high school baseball program. In 2004, my family and I decided to come back to our roots, which is when I landed a teaching and coaching job at Reardan High School. I coached multiple sports here (basketball, track & field, and football), beginning in 2004. In 2009, I began a club basketball program, Spokane Legacy Basketball. I started this program specifically for small-town athletes because they didn’t realize these opportunities existed. I coached and operated Spokane Legacy Basketball from 2009 through 2019. In 2011, I decided to be a fan of my children, Shaye (graduated in 2016) and Sienna (graduated in 2018), who attended and graduated from Lakeside High School. My oldest daughter began high school in 2012, so it was a perfect transition point for me to resign from coaching at Reardan High School after the 2011 season and support my own children. When Covid closed schools and athletics in the spring of 2019, it was a good time to transition from coaching club basketball, which was typically April through July, to spending time with my family and chasing my children.
We are excited to have Preston Wynne join the Reardan Boys Basketball program! Preston comes with a wealth of basketball experience playing two years for Spokane Community College after graduating from Wellpinit HS then to Vanguard Lions and overseas. Preston was extremely instrumental is starting several NBC Camps as well and has a passion for working with developing athletes!
